Take your chances with the SMELL!
I got one of the stinky ones, and boy does it smell horrible. I have tried washing the mattress several times according to the instructions in the manual but this smell is here to stay. It is a mix of chemicals and vomit. And it attaches to anything it comes in contact with - sheets, toys, blankets, your child. My daughter smelled so bad from laying on this mattress I had to give her a bath. Can you imagine what is in this thing that is causing such an odor? Can't be good for little babies to be around. I contacted Summer Infant and they sent me another mattress, but it had the same odor, I could smell it before I even opened the box.
You can take your chances, some apparently do not smell, but both of mine do. My suggestion would be to go to a store and open the box to smell it before you buy. Other than that I like this P&P. Yes, the changing table does tilt, but it hasn't been a huge issue. I like the caddy that comes on the side, very useful for storing stuff.

Great play yard - no funky smell with ours
We have used this play yard for four months now. At first we kept it downstairs and used it for naps and as a second changing station. After the baby outgrew the bassinet, we moved the play yard into our room and he now sleeps in it every night, next to our bed. This yard was easy to set up/take down and we easily traveled with it when we stayed with family over the holidays. I also love the sound machine. The womb/heartbeat sound soothes my baby and helps him to fall asleep faster after we put him to bed for the night and after each night feeding. I like that it plays for 15 minutes before it automatically fades out.
My reason for 4 starts instead of 5 is because the changing station does tilt slightly, but not enough to keep me from using it. And not everything fits in the travel bag.
Reviews on the Babies R Us site have noted some foul smells but that was not something we experienced with our yard.

This is the best play yard for your money its convienient and portable but i do agree that it is priced to high. we got it as a gift for our baby shower and it was only 89.00 at Burlington Cot Factory!!! :)
